Early in the morning

Superman and I drink our first cup of coffee together each morning around 6.30 and we walk around the garden as we drink. It's a lovely way to start my day. Here is what we saw this morning.

It gives me so much joy to see the transformation of this area.

Wow! Wendy - I had no idea!
I have locked myself in my bedroom to save my darling children and long suffering husband from yet another bout of PMS...
And so for the first time I got to check out your archives.
I had always just assumed you lived on an enormous small holding with oodles of space and endless time and income.
It was so inspiring to see what your family have done with your garden. You have lifted my mood and given me something to take my mind off myself!
Urban agriculture is my official new obsession!
Blessings,
Pen

It certainly does sound like a lovely way to spend a morning. I have two small boys, so every morning, as soon as we wake up we run outside and jump on our big trampoline for 10 minutes.

I have found that when I give them my undivided attention first up, they'll leave me in peace to have my first cup of tea for the day :)

Plus my legs are getting swimmer worthy! (in my mind :p)

Lovely. My day feels "un"started if I wasn't started with a cuppa in our veg garden.

Question - how often do you water your garden? We live on the west coast on a dune and despite having worked in quite a bit of compost in our garden, but still find the need to water every day in summer.

Hi there,

We water all pots and baskets everyday, sometimes twice on very hot days but the vegetable beds are watered every second day.

I think though your situation would call for daily watering. The West Coast is very dry.

Thank you Wendy. I only got to read your reply now! The wind has been really bad this year as well, which has been making matters even worse!

Love, love, LOVE your blog!
