In Memory Of...

Yoda has been with us from the beginning so we are all sad today that she has gone.

A couple of weeks ago she started looking a bit off so we knew she wasn't well.

Thank you for all the eggs, Yoda, I like to think of you are in a place where there are lots of bugs and worms for you to eat, sand to bath in and sun to tan your legs.

Hi Wendy,
Yoda was a nice looking hen. Do you know of anyone who has laying hens for sale? There is a petshop in Kraaifontein on the Main Road with 50 red lomans at 22 weeks.(R80 each - sounds a bit excessive) They may be battery hens which I would rather not have, so I am undecided.

Hi there Jane

There is a farm which is apparently selling "point of lay" hens. The farm is just after turning off at the last offramp going towards the Hugenot Tunnel.

I also know of another woman who is looking to rehome her chickens but I am not sure how old they are.

Email me at gaviny at mweb dot co dot za and I can send you her details.

Hi Wendy,
So sorry about your hen. One of ours died this week too. :-(
And for no apparent reason.
